Hi, thanks for responding. Yep, cleared everything, deactivated other plugins and can’t seem to fix this weird issue. I have used css to hide the offending subnav so not affecting viewing media but it bugs me that something isn’t right. Oddly, it works properly when viewing Members Media so it is something to do with how urls are configured in Groups. Which Media plugin do you use? Mediapress is my other option but just means transferring a lot of pics into its Wall Gallery.
Thanks. That works!
Thanks, I have notified my Theme provider Reign to check if its something on their end.
Hi, Please could you check if the ‘Members Only’ feature in the Community Core is actually working? I was able to access the Activity stream without Logging-In which is very unsatisfactory. Gone back to the BuddyFence plugin which prevents this from happening. Thanks.
Hi, I have mentioned this before but 12.3 and BP Classic 1.4 hasn’t resolved it. It would appear the issue of Cross-Linked User Menu items is also being mentioned in the WBcom Designs Facebook Group so it’s not just me! When viewing another Member’s Profile and wanting to return to your own Profile via the User Menu top left, the menu items continue to be linked to the Member’s Page you are visiting. Deactivate BP Classic and the issue goes away. Hope you can resolve this. Thanks.
Hi, not sure if this a bug or a set-up issue with BP 12 and BP Classic installed. When viewing another Member’s Profile and then clicking on your own Profile (Account Menu top right) it activates the other Member’s relevant Menu Item instead of switching to your own Profile! Rolled back to BP 11.4 and all works as expected. Could you check please. Thanks.
My Pleasure! Only found it out when trying out another Theme! Seems not every theme developer is ready for 8.0 php!
Just discovered something when I updated to version 8.0 php… the media tab disappeared! Switched it back to version 7.4 and the media tab came back! So, somethings are not ready for version 8.0 php. Hopefully your Hosting Provider (mine is Bluehost) has a cPanel and you can find the MultiPHPManager where you can check/change php version
That was the fix that was incorporated in the latest rtMedia release!
Totally understand your concern. Just suggesting you do a Live Preview with another free theme that you could install such as BuddyX and test it without publishing! Nothing will change on your live site!
Have you got another theme loaded that you could switch too in the Live Preview Customizer to see if its Gwangi thats the issue?
How frustrating! Which theme are you using?
rtMedia 4.6.10 for me too. Buddypress 10.1.0 and wordpress 5.9.1 You too?
Now that is Weird! The update from rtMedia worked for me! This may seem silly but sometimes its the obvious things that we overlook… have you checked the rtMedia Settings… Allow Media in Groups just in case its off before you investigate further?
Hi, rtMedia just released 4.6.10 which fixes the disappearing MediaTab in Groups and now claims compatibility with BP 10
Thanks Mathieu. I also contacted rtMedia in case it was on there side and they replicated the issue and have prepared a fix which should be in a forthcoming release! https://github.com/rtCamp/rtMedia/pull/1825
Update: rtMedia have replicated the issue and fixed it with an update release imminent!
I use a plugin called Rollback… its really useful in these situations! Rolling back to 9.2 should help your issue!
I can confirm that this is an issue using the rtMedia plugin! Tested on three themes and the Media Tab disappears from the Groups menu. Rolled back to 9.2 and all is ok. Logged this as a bug and also pointed it out to rtMedia. We’ll see how quickly someone sorts this out as it is fairly important!
Hi Mathieu, I don’t know if anyone has reported this but the Media Tab associated with rtMedia disappears from the Groups page with version 10. I have tested this on several themes and the issue persists. Rolled back to 9.2 and it reappears as normal. Hope you can check this out thanks!
Hi David, thanks for looking at this! From what I can see there isn’t a specific register.php but the Theme (in my opinion) has taken your excellent Buddypress to a whole new level by some very clever and minimalist styling. The developers are incredibly responsive to user enquiries and what I will do is drop them a support email enquiring as to their preparedness for V10 and I’ll let you know what they say! Thanks.
Hi, Thanks for the opportunity to test v10. When the Option for Admin to approve requests is active and ‘Allow anyone to Register’ is disabled, the Registration form says ‘Member Registration is currently not allowed’ Using the Beehive Theme which styles Buddypress. Similarly, Beehive’s Ajax Login Modal says ‘Sign-Up not allowed’ It appears like a Catch22 situation. Is there something I’m missing? Thanks.
Hi watube, Can I recommend the Youzer plugin (paid but well worth it) from CodeCanyon. It takes Buddypress to a whole new level and will give you the options you want re posts! The only downside is that some of the other free plugins that you might want to use such as ‘Edit Activity’ wont work but comes as an add-on from Youzer. However the overall look and performance is amazing. Youzer has a free demo plugin to give you a feel for the full plugin.
