Just bumping and hoping someone can help ๐
Iโve read this is to do with the template pack which i need at the moment
@fpats it only has to do with the template pack if you already have a BuddyPress-ready theme. It also happened in older versions of BP were not upgraded to compatible WordPress version. So what are your WP/BP versions? What theme are you using? Have you tried deactivating other plugins to see which is causing the issue (WPML perhaps?) ?
@mercime the theme is supposed to be buddypress ready but isn’t and only works properly with the template pack. It’s a Themeforest theme called MADE
I’m using WP3.51 and the BP1.7 beta2
I’ve disabled all plugins leaving only BP and we still have the duplicated posts, it’s a real nightmare.
To add, just incase it helps, i\\\’m also using Multisite.
Can anyone help with this? We’re going to have to uninstall Buddypress if it can’t be fixed which i really don’t want to do ๐
@fpats, normally, you don’t have to use the template pack with 1.7
So far i know there was a bug in 1.7 beta concerning this point. (https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4897)
Reload BP from trunk, it’s now in RC1 version

Hi again,
We’ve upgraded to 1.7 and still need to install template pack for this to display properly, unfortunately.
This also means we’re still getting duplicate posts in the activity stream, groups etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ๐
Try the wordpress twentytwelve and checkย if All updates are being posted twice, i think problem in your theme.
@fpats
You do not need the template pack plugin anymore. If your getting duplicate activity post then its still not displaying properly. Contact the theme author and request they restructure the theme based on WordPress template structures. They need to adhere to the standards of how WordPress themes are created for theme compatibility to work properly. If not I suggest finding a new theme that adheres to standard WordPress template hierarchy.
I’m pretty sure the theme isn’t the problem TBH.
It’s this one but i’ll contact them anyway, thanks for the tip.
@fpats Just to clarify,
– did you just activate the BP Template Pack plugin for MADE (the theme already has BP folders like /activity/, /groups/, etc. within theme folder)
– or do you also have to go through Appearance > BP Compatibility (whereby BP folders have to be transferred to your theme’s folder in server) ?
If you went through Appearance > BP Compatibility process, check out this article https://codex.buddypress.org/bp-17-upgrading-template-packed-themes/
Reminder: back up your theme folder with the BP files first
But yes, the upgrade would be an easier process for you if theme author could direct users on best way to upgrade to BP 1.7
No, nothing’s working.
So tonight i’ve deleted everything, bought a brand new theme and reinstalled BP.
It doesn’t work with the theme, or with template pack.
I give in.
