Activity Stream on Home Page under a Sticky Post

    Hi

What I would like to do is add the activity stream under a sticky post on the home page of my blog. I know how to make the activity stream show up but I want to keep the sticky post visible as its important but also give the site visitor a chance to look at the activity and not just blog posts.

My website is http://www.workoutjourney.com. I’m using WP 3.01 and BP 1.2.6.

What I want to do is keep the current sticky post as it is with the banner ad and then add the activity stream under the ad. The final result would have the one sticky blog post and the activity stream on the home page.

Does anybody know how to do this?

    Thanks

    Brad

He’s using the Ultimate Blogging Theme: http://www.ultimatebloggingtheme.com/

@cmubrad – I don’t know all of the details of that theme but the easiest is to install the site wide activity plugin and use a widget in the sidebar.

Yes – It is the Ultimate Blogging Theme. The site wide activity plugin does not have a good look on my theme. That’s why I want the stream under the home post.

Is there a function I could add in my home.php page or something?

I’m not sure which way is better, seems lots of people have done great jobs.
Here’s a tip I took as guiding to start my bp customizing journey : http://wpmu.org/how-to-widgetize-a-page-post-header-or-any-other-template-in-wordpress/

After registered the widgets and created the new page template, style the widget area. Create Pages you need to use for bp compoents (activity, groups, members, …) ,choose the new page template.
Use Custom Field Template plug in or other means to write contents and bp loops in the widget areas. Custom Field Template says its php code is experimental, but my blog doesn’t have problem with it.

Another way I want to try but not tried yet– copy bp componets pages and add widget in it. Not sure if this can be done or not.
