Add Post Featured Image to Activity Stream Items

Hey guys!
So the title says pretty much everything. I know this has been a recurring question and I swear I have made some research before posting a new topic. However all the solutions I’ve found doesn’t work.
Basically I would like to add some sort of custom function to add the post featured image to buddypress activity stream.
Can anyone help me out?
