    hey, buddypress forum. I used to be able to edit and add content to the activity page- from “all the pages” back end dashboard link. I added a shortcode and a welcoming message. Lately – it has not been showing up and no matter what I add to the page the content does not show up on the front end.
    (I is supposed to show up under the title and above the input box.

    wp- 4, buddypress 2.1.1, tested without any plugins but buddypress and on another (default) theme. issue remains.

    please help.

    @style960 if you get a min, could you maybe test it on your activity for a sec, see if it is only mine or something to do with the updates..?

    @milenushka This behaviour isn’t limited to Activity. Any page you set Buddypress to utilize – Groups, Members etc. won’t be available to edit. I’ll have to plead ignorance on this one though – just installed BP 1.81 and while the same pages are available to edit, those changes don’t show on the front-end. I’m not sure what you’ve been able to do with these pages in the past? I suspect the edit link has now been removed to avoid confusion rather than anything else.

    ok then how can someone insert anything at these pages before the content that BuddyPress inserts?

    There was an option to insert content before and I also edited the content.php to insert shortcodes. ($custom_content = do_shortcode( get_the_content() );) it was beautiful. Now it stopped working.

    Without trying it myself I would suggest page templates are one potential option. You can customize those BP pages and future proof them by adding them to your child theme. Recreate the same folder structure as your parent theme in your child theme, and it should work fine.

    The “$custom_content = do_shortcode( get_the_content() );” still works for me…
