    Please post the error message. The plugin has been tested in IE 7, FireFox 3.x on Windows Vista and Mac OS X, and Safari on OS X.

    PerS, Does this toksta chat app only display in the member themes like Facebook chat because if in the home theme, it would be abused and not private?

    hi Pers i’m using ie7: the chat window is a blank page, and after clicking on a user picture for chatting, i can see the js error:

    line 154

    character 3

    error: the class do not support automation

    sgrunt, the debug information from IE is sooo poor, could you please see if you get more using FireBug Lite: http://getfirebug.com/lite.html (try the bookmarklet)

    i don’t know if i’m using firebug lite correctly, however the message of firebug is:

    “the class does not support automation (http://127.0.0.1/mu/,12)”

    i’ve inserted the js code in the header.php of the bp home theme

    nicola, I’ve submitted it to bp-dev, just waiting for you to make it public :)

    hi Pers, can you help me with my IE problem? Anyone out there has tested the chat using explorer?

    @pers

    Participant

    Sorry but I can’t help you with your IE. I just tested it again on my mac and it works fine in:

    – IE 6.x on Windows XP

    – IE 7.x on Windows Vista

    – FireFox 3.x and Safari 3.2.1 on Mac OS X 10.5.6

    For a general chat for logged in users I used these instructions and it worked perfectly.

    @gogoplata, I considered PHP Free Chat (and plenty others), installed it and tested it, and it’s ok. The reason I ended up with toksta is that it doesn’t put load on my servers and it has webcam support.
