Auto Group via code sign up

Hi people, I am trying to set up a teacher and student network site. I want this thing to be easy to use and so I have chosen buddypress. I wonder if there is a way of getting people to sign up using a code as well as username and password. I want the students to be auto subscribed to groups. The groups being groups that the teachers set? Does any such plugin exist yet
