Avatar Cropping Not Working

I’ve had a little work done to my profile pages and now I can’t figure out why the avatar cropping is not working. I don’t think any of that code got changed. I’m hoping someone might know of any easy fix so I can get it back to working again. I can upload an image but it makes the image oval and the crop box doesn’t appear. Then if you click crop it takes a small portion of the oval and makes that the avatar. You can see the screen shots here:

    hi @rynoesco,

We have probably the culprit, but you say nothing about that work. What have you done exactly ?

Only CSS to get rouded avatars ? Please give details

Also read here please, and give your theme name

    Hello @danbp

I had someone help change the look of my profile pages. I’m pretty sure it was mostly the css but there was some programing that took place to help get the look I wanted. There was added code to make a cover image (similar to facebook) and the rounded corners on the avatars. I’m pretty sure the rounded corners was just some css so I don’t think that did anything to break the code.

I’m running the newest version of wp. Wp is running in a subdirectory. I’m running 2.0.1 version of BP. My wordress theme is called Hot Topic and I think the BP theme is standard. I don’t know if I have any custom functions in bp-custom.ph. I’m not running bbPress. Hosted by Bluehost.

If you think it is not CSS who breaks the js query working in the background, i guess you think false.

For example if you changed some class name, the script can’t correctly handle the cropping.

Here a very old topic, related to a css problem with avatar. Nothing to do with yours today, but to make you understand that playing with CSS is not a innocent game.

You could also read this related to avatar customization on the codex.

Have you deactivate the actual theme and tried with 2014 ?

Now, at least, as you use a premium theme, you have to ask on the theme support if you encounter issues. We cannot help much for such themes, as we have no access to them.

Yes, I understand that css could potentially break js. I was just referring to simple styling within css, not changing class names or anything like that. Thank you for the links. I’ll take a look at them and see if those will help with my avatar cropping issue.
