Avatar/icons in Site Wide Activity Stream sidebar widget

Hello all I have WP 3.01 & BuddyPress Version 1.2.6
I have my own custom default avatars working in most areas of the site but can not get them changed for the site wide activity stream widget or in the main activity stream it is showing identicons they are very small it is showing it for sub-directory blogs & the main blog… I’m not sure what files needs to be edited to fix this as I’ve looked into the buddypress files I’m wondering if it is in the WP files

I edited the bp-core a bit to get my custom avatar showing
I just wish it would show for the site wide & on the activity stream as it does in the blog listing (but smaller) Thanks for your help
