BP blocks ‘my groups’

    @larnoult

    Hello!
    I was wondering if it was possible to use a BP block to display all groups the current user belongs to (with a filter for exemple).
    So far, the “dynamic list of groups” does not seem to offer such setting and displays all groups (that can simply be reordered).
    Thx for your help,

  • Hi,

    Thanks for posting on the subject, in your opinion how should the « my » be set ?

    Should we include an autocomplete control to select the user we wish to list the group they’re a member of ?

    Or should it be made dynamic: eg list the ones of a displayed user/logged in user ?

    Hey @imath,
    I think it makes to make it dynamic, so that the list of groups displayed are the one the logged-in user belongs to.
    I guess that could be added as an option of the dynamic group block, as a toogle like this.

    Also, meanwhile I found this widget (BuddyPress Extended User Groups Widget) which could be a source of inspiration.

    I think that adding an option to display (or not) the group description would also be a nice add on for this block.
    Thanks for all your work for the Buddypress community! Looking forward to use the next major release!

    Thanks for your feedback ☺️.

    This is something we should add I agree. We’ll work on it for the next major release (not 12.0 as we’re close to dev cycle end, but next one).
