I have been planning a site which uses both WP and BP plugin for over a year. And with the upgrade to WP 3.2.1, I cannot activate BP without crashing and having to remove via FTP. What is UP!!! with this?

    Disappointed and Angry,

    David Thomas

    Dear David,

There are many people on this website who would be willing to help you, but more information will be necessary about your site setup. What version of BP are you running? What other plugins are you running? Do you have access to the PHP error logs? What do they say?

I ask because BP is known to be working on the latest versions of WP. It is likely that there is something peculiar with your setup – probably a plugin conflict – that is causing your problem.

As a side note, I understand as well as anyone how problems like this can cause a great deal of frustration and anger. However, much of this frustration can be avoided or at least eased if you’re willing to come forward and ask for help before reaching the breaking point. Angry messages like the one you’ve posted here and the ones you’ve posted on Twitter are understandable, but they don’t do anyone any good.

    Boone

I just updated my BP site to WP 3.2.1 and it broke the forum tab. I had to take it offline! I even tested it on a beta site but I overlooked checking the forum tab -_-

update: i was running the previous version of buddypress. then i attempted to update BP and now my entire site is down with a fatal error. (bp-links-core.php on line 704)

Rename plugins folder in server, then rename active WP theme so system will automatically change theme to twentyeleven theme.

BP Links looks like the culprit. Try renaming that folder /plugins/bp-links/ to something else like /plugins/bp-links-bak/, then see if that fixes your site.
