buddy-matic

    @hkcharlie

    I am trying to get my single user 2.9.2 wordpress theme work with your latest version of buddypress.

    I am using the buddymatic and am at “stage 3”, “fixing alignment”.

    I’ve identified the files that I need to edit from and edit to.

    Now I “will need to change the HTML structure in the BuddyPress templates that I copied into my theme to match the structure in my page.php”

    I know the instructions say “Make note of the HTML template structure of the file, specifically the <div> tags that surround the content and sidebar”, but I guess I am just too novice to really understand what is being talked about.

    I have started by trying to edit the activity/index.php with what I think might be the right changes, uploading it back to the directory on line and reloading the page http://www.mywebsite.com/members/admin/activity/ to see if my changes have taken effect and so far they haven’t.

    I guess this means one of two things:

    1) my editing of the file isn’t right (highly likely)

    or

    2) this method will not show changes to the way the page is displayed until some other or all files are edited.

    Could anyone please help me?

    If you can hang on a bit, the theme will be updated for 1.2 soon.

    do you mean buddypress will .be updated to enable it to use my theme?

    I thought the latest version was 1.2

    No, I mean the theme will be updated to work with BP 1.2. You won’t have to mod any files.

    We’re planning on getting to it this weekend.

    I’m sorry – I’m a complete idiot and am talking about something completely different. Good luck Andrea!
