Buddymatic Theme and BuddyPress

  • @rheyser

    I installed the Buddymatic theme because it was supposed to be very compatible with buddypress. However, now that I have everything installed and activated, this is what I get:

    Warning: constant() [function.constant]: Couldn’t find constant BP_HOME_BLOG_SLUG in C:\Program Files\xampp\xampp\htdocs\wp-content\themes\buddymatic\library\extensions\buddypress-extensions.php on line 107

    Any thoughts? Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks!

    Has the parent-child structure been abandoned in version 1.2? I see the download comes with only one bp-default folder. Can you still use a custom child theme on top of bp-default in 1.2 or should you just replace bp-default?

    The old theme (BP Classic) is available in the BP Backwards Compatibility plugin:

    https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-backwards-compatibility/

    The new theme is built with child themes in mind! So yes, you can use a custom child theme on top of bp-default!

    So… I had the same problem, but as a BP n00b I can’t tell from this thread what the status is. Is it considered solved yet, and if so, how do I apply the fix?

    Thanks

    @bewst – fix to what? Buddymatic Theme or a child theme?

    Bewst: Buddymatic hasn’t been updated for 1.2 yet, so any errors are likely due to that. Give the kind theme developers a little time, it’ll be updated very shortly, at which time you can download a new version that should work just fine. (I know ’cause I’ve been pestering them myself!)
