BuddyPress AJAX and jQuery Clashing

    Hi guys.

I’m having a small issue with a site I’m developing at the moment. Link – http://dorsetortho.futurestech.com/

Basically the jQuery used for the following elements of the site:
    – homepage banner slideshow
    – main navigation drop-down menu
    – image fade down effect when you hover ‘SAFO’ ‘Silicon’ etc

… clashes with the AJAX that comes built into BuddyPress.

As an example – on pages such as this (http://dorsetortho.futurestech.com/members/will/) you should be able to click ‘Favorite’ and then see that you’ve favorited that link/post/status without having to refresh the page.

With jQuery included in the page template (in header.php) this functionality doesn’t work. If I take jQuery out, it works, but then obviously the 3 bullets mentioned above don’t work.

If anyone has any ideas/suggestions to get everything working in harmony I would be forever indebted to you!

    Thanks,
    Will

It looks like you’re loading jquery more than once.

Could you point me to the line of the code please enderandrew?

I’ve had a quick look in ‘header.php’ and can’t see it being called twice, but I may well have missed something.

    Thanks
