Is there a way to add BuddyPress type comments – use of @username, like, add image etc to a regular wordpress blog post (ie not in the activity stream).

Please check this https://github.com/Turn2honey/plugins/blob/master/wp-mention-plugin/wp-mention-plugin.php for the mention feature and this https://themeisle.com/blog/attach-comment-images-wordpress/ for image uploads.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/comment-attachment/ is not longer maintained. Is it ok to user it or is there a different option?
