Buddypress disappeared?

  • @ryannnlewis

I’ve had it on my site for a few weeks. My site was about to go live today, when I realized that Buddypress has completely disappeared. I tried to re download it and keep getting a message saying “Installation Failed: Destination Folder already exists” I tried going to plugins, editor, and it’s not there. Can someone walk me through how to fix this?

ETA: I’m not good at this sort of thing so I will need any explanations of how to fix dumbed down as much as possible

You need to get FTP access to your wordpress folders, go to wp-content/plugins and delete the buddypress directory, you should then be able to reinstall it.

How do I get FTP access to my wordpress folders?

you would need to know the FTP access details from your hosting provider and use an FTP app such as FileZilla to access and delete the folder.

    Hi,

Please install and activate this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/ and then download the zip of BuddyPress plugin from wordpress.org and then on your site go to add new plugin and upload the zip there.

It will replace the previously existing folder and will add the new one.

    Thanks

It seems like you do not have enough permissions in folders and files. Please check with your hosting provider, they can check for you if all the folders have permission 755 and files have 644.

If not please ask them to do it for you and then I think you will be able to delete it and can install new one.

    Thanks
