Buddypress iPhone theme update

  • @modemlooper

    Moderator

Worked on my iPhone theme today. Taking suggestions on a name for the theme.

    Couple I thought of:

    BuddiPhone

    BuddiPress

Here is a screen shot of the activity page.

It’s going to be a major renovation. Had to re-arange the entire commenting on activity. The way native apps work is link >> landing page so I removed the commenting from activity streams and changed the reply link to go to the permalink where all the comments are listed. A much better flow for a mobile screen. Easier to crunch info.

I was wondering whether it was a theme or an app, it certainly looks like an app? could it not be so?

btw it’s a great effort, looks like a lot of work has gone into achieving that layout!

@ hnla: Making a website for an app is actually not nessecairy especially since people might wanna change the looks of the theme. An app also first has to be certified by apple to be placed in the app store. The only advantage it could have is it being faster than by using the internet.

@ Modemlooper: Will you also make it wp single, or just for wpmu? Don’t mind making it wp single when you’re ready. :)

Either it works with both same as BP default works with both.

Good point, although there will be tears before bedtime when people try and modify this sort of work I would have thought. :)

Screenshot of the notifications / login page. When you login you get to see your notifications right away. Plus as you navigate site you get a notice in the header. Clicking that notice takes you back to your notifications / login page

Not sure when. Working on it between other work. This theme / webapp should work fine on Android devices too. It’s just a web page.
