Can I remove users’ ability to post on their own profiles?

Hi all
I’d like to prevent users from posting on their own profiles, and limit them only to posting in the various groups.
I have users who are getting confused by this and after visiting their profile, they post an update right there thinking everyone will see it. But most users never look at each others profiles; this isn’t a social media site. Posts should be intended only for the buddypress groups and I’d rather they didn’t have the ability to post on their own profile.
How can I prevent this? Either via customisation (preferably) or a plugin? TIA.
