Can plugins/built in features manage these things or will I have to use custom PHP?

  • Hey guys,

I’m working on a new project and I’m wondering if I’ll need custom PHP to do some of the things I want and opinions on if I can do the stuff I want.

Should I have installed Buddypress on single user wordpress or WPMU if I DON’T want users to have their own blogs?

The main idea behind the site will be voting, so lets say I want users to be able to login on their facebook and vote for the next type of movie they would want to come out. Not in poll format, more of a Digg format where the suggestions with the most votes go to the top and vice versa. This would be on one page, and then users can vote on other pages of other topics with a certain amount of votes.

What are the possiblities for plugins for this, or will I be writing a lot of this myself?

Thanks for any and all advice on this!

    Install BP on single WP

Check out the BuddyPress Like plugin – not exactly what you want but as a starting point.
