[Resolved] Can't change permalink issue

Hello. I’ve just done a full, clean install of wordpress and added on BuddyPress immediately after. I want to allow visitors to the website to register/login, so I’ve created a ‘Register’ page and associated it with the register in buddypress’s settings area.

However, while I have a page in existence called ‘Register’, for some reason when I visit my pages section and look at the permalink for the Register page, the link actually says it’s pointing to ‘Register-2’ so that is where buddypress is ‘redirecting’ to whenever the sign up link is clicked.

I suppose this may be because I created a register page a little earlier for testing and deleted it (though, I suppose I didn’t delete everything since something is aware that the original name is/was taken?). Does anyone have any idea how I can get buddypress (or if its wordpress) to stop redirecting to this ‘Register-2’ page? Thanks!

Try going to your trash to make sure you’ve fully deleted the register page. You can then go into and edit the register page that has the -2 slug
