Can’t get BuddyPress pages to display properly

I have searched and tinkered for days to figure out how to fix this.

First of all, I am running the latest version of WP and BP. My website is located here: http://www.TheSeattleVineProject.com

I am using a child theme of twentyeleven that I and another person have customized to fit our needs. After creating the new template I installed BuddyPress to use for the login/profile system. Everything works beautifully except that the side bar on my BP created pages is pushed down (or sometimes overlapping) by the BP content. I have used simple methods described on this and other forums to fix this, but to no avail. I’m hoping someone can take a look and help me figure it out.

Secondly, I would like to edit the layout of how the profile displays to the user when they’re logged in but I am super confused about where the file is that controls that. Is it the main child-theme folders I should be looking in or is it inside of the plugin/buddypress files? This is probably a really dumb question, but can somebody help me find where I can add CSS to format the layout of the profile page?

If you can’t tell, I’m not an expert coder. I know just enough to get by. Hopefully someone can help me out!

    Thanks.
