can't repair search page

I recently updated BuddyPress and now it keeps giving me the following error message:

The following active BuddyPress Components do not have associated WordPress Pages: Search Page. Repair

I’ve tried making a Search page and selecting it on the settings page, but it refuses to accept it. One thing I noticed was when I made a Search page (mydomain.com/search) I couldn’t view it, it just took me to mydomain.com. I tried changing its url to mydomain.com/searchbp and I could view it, but it still wouldn’t take in the settings.

Not sure if this matters, but I should also point out that I don’t use BuddyPress’s register/activate pages. I modified it awhile back (don’t ask me how, I don’t remember) to use the default WordPress ones because I use a plugin to verify their username is also a valid Minecraft username to prevent spam bots.

By default, there isn’t a search component in the BuddyPress settings. Are you using a plugin or code snippet to create that page? You’ll need to check with the plugin author to provide a fix.

Oh, weird. I have no search plugin installed at all. I do have bbpress installed, though. Could that be it? Could it be related to my theme? I did just change that recently, too.

Assuming it’s purely related to my theme, is there a search plugin you would recommend? Or am I doomed to get this error message forever?
