Client Side Validation For BP Sign Up Form?

    Hi guys,

    I’m not sure if others are a bit annoyed at the way the standard BP sign up form will strip away ALL entered data from a BP sign up form if a user gets just ONE field wrong but I’m having a few complaints as my form captures many custom fields on sign up.

    is there any way to install some kind of client side validation before a user can actually hit submit, or a way for the form to simply keep the fields that are okay populated, just stripping the wrongly filled out ones?

    Any help would be much appreciated!

    Ross :)

  • Either with javascript or HTML5 validation. Or, you can make a patch for core to help improve this there :)

    @DJPaul Hey Paul!

    Cheers mate, thought so!

    I’m going to pay a developer to do this tomorrow and I’ll gladly hand over the code so that you can use it in the BP core for a future release. I think it’s uber important to make the sign up procedure as easy as possible and client side validation along with a decent captcha would really help.

    @rossagrant, that’d be pretty generous of you. Thanks :-)
