Creating a component (Similar to a Group)

I would like to create a component that allows you to create a ‘Page’ that other users can ‘Follow’. Basically like a group, but only and administrator can create.

Basically it would be a ‘Featured’ Group component. So an administrator would create it specifically for someone, and then people can join it or follow it. Similar features to the built in groups component.

Can anyone point me in the direction of components that have already been created, or a tutorial on where I can create my own component.

Basically any help would be great.

Does anyone have any links to a list of components?

If no one can help with my problem, at least I could look at how other people built their components.

Take a look at bp-events.

It is based on Group component, modified to become events.

Thanks, I do have bp-events, but there are still errors with the search and the avatars. But I can still use it for what I want I guess
