[resolved] Custom Registration.php not overriding BuddyPress Default

    Hi

I have the BuddyPress folder structure duplicated in my child theme and successfully overriding the files in /members/; however I want to edit the registration.php file (I am customising the registration form). Weirdly, when I put the custom registration page in /registration/ in my buddypress folder in my child theme, it is still using the default buddypress registration file. Does the file override only work in the members folder?

Where did you get the idea that /registration/ was a valid directory? Look at the existing bp-legacy layout it’s there in black & white as to where files reside and in what directories 😉

@hnla – I was looking in the bp-themes directory not the bp-templates directory. Facepalm.

    🙂
Remember to follow the naming convention as outlined in the codex guide for template hierarchy and that if wanting to create a standalone template i.e index-registration.php it will require all the ‘parts’ that constitute a WP template get_header/get_footer

@hnla – Thanks Hugo. Yeah I’m generally ok with the BuddyPress templates, but I keep forgetting to look in bp-templates instead of bp-themes. Bad habits!
