Default Avatars

In buddypress under general settings there is an option to set a default avatar when a subscriber signs up if they don’t have a pic to upload to their profile.
the question is… can i create my own avatar that would be the default?
if so, how can I do this?
I tried looking in the images folder in buddypress to find a .gif file of an avatar, but no luck, unless I was looking in the wrong folder. all I want to do is change out one of the default avatar image files and use my own buddypress. anyone have any ideas?
