Edit Profile mishap

    @beccahague

I recently started to use buddypress as part of my word press installation, everything works great – apart from one thing.

Whenever I click EDIT PROFILE from the profile page, or the admin bar – it redirects me to the home page, I have been unable to find a reason as to why this is occurring.

These are the plugins I have active:

    All in one SEO Pack
    BuddyPress
    BuddyPress Auto Join Group
    BuddyPress Forum Topic Mover
    BuddyPress Profile Progression
    Featured Page Widget
    Sexybookmarks
    Welcome Pack

Any ideas on what I can do / or undo about this?

You’ll need to perform some basic troubleshooting and report back the results. Disable all those plugins (except of course BP) and try again to edit a profile, if you can then re-introduce the plugins one by one testing each time until you find the one causing the issue.

If it’s not a plugin issue, provide your setup details (which should always accompany all help posts) version numbers, custom themes, if using a custom theme disable it and run bp-default theme in case it’s a theme issue.

Okay, I disabled all my plugins apart from buddy press – and I still had the issue. I kept the plugins deactivated and changed back to the default theme, and the issue remains.

I’m on word press 3.1 and all my plug ins are up to date. The theme I am using is: Custom Community (the free version) and buddy press version is Version 1.2.8.

What set up details do you need to know?

Oh, and I tried it in both google chrome and I.E – same results.

Change theme to bp-default and see if erratic behavior disappears.

If issue is resolved using bp-default, then you should check if you have upgraded to the latest Custom Community theme version https://wordpress.org/extend/themes/custom-community.

If theme upgrade doesn’t fix it, there is a forum for that theme at http://themekraft.com/groups/custom-community/forum

It isn’t resolved using bp-default. I still can’t get through to edit profile. It just sends me back to the home page.
