Error on fresh install

I just installed WordPress on a new site specifically to have it with BuddyPress, I did nothing but install the plugin and activate it and I lost all the functionality of the WordPress administration… every time I try to access it (to create a post for example) it shows a “Server Error – 500”

What can I do to fix this?

– WP/BP versions?
– Single WP or WP multisite?
– Shared hosting or VPS and above?
– Did you install WP manually or did you use webhost WP install script? The webhost scripts sometimes causes the server error when BuddyPress is activated.
– What theme are you using?
– What plugins do you have installed?

I am using WP 3.3.1 and BP 1.5.3.1 with shared hosting. I am using BP right out of the box and do no t have any other plugins installed
