events plugin?

hello
which event plugin shall I use there are a lot of them???Which is a stable one?
-
thanks but both stable versions???
Re: stability – what works for me may not work for you. Did you read information about the plugins? Both plugins are being actively developed. There was insufficient doc on EventPress, so here’s a sample – http://gsoc2010.wordpress.com/2010/07/12/status-update-4/
@mercime which plugin would you recommend??
I’m using linux now and I’ve got problems to set up localhost so by now I cant test plugins, thats why I ask. Members are asking ro this plugin a lot.
I am using Jet Event System for live install and it’s working out well. I haven’t used EventPress for live install yet, only checking it out in test install. Others might like to chime in.
EventPress was sponsored by Google Code of Summer so I would have high hopes for it.
@paulhastings0 same here – high hopes and considering kunalb has done a good job and JJJ mentored. Are you using EventPress now in live install?
I’m not yet, but we’re planning to within the next month or so.
In the end, it’s all a matter of when you need to implement the calendar component. A matter of choice whether one is willing to wait one month or so as the plugin matures since there are still some bugs, compared to using a plugin that’s tested functional in live installs now.
So @tubruk if you have a deadline e.g. this Wednesday, you know which plugin would not cause members messaging you that this or that in the calendar is not working. But if you have the luxury of time on your side, you can wait a month or so to see how the other plugin develops.
Oh, one last note, if you end up using the EventPress plugin you’ll also need to install the BP Custom Posts plugin as well.
Question of the requirements for the plugin:) We must answer the question – what do you need from the system
Now have two threads running on essentially the same the same topic *frown*
what do you need from the system how about maps
@hnla – both plugins have maps
Do they??!! Eventpress does couldn’t see the Jet equivalent .
Capital P please!
On a more serious note — for those wondering about the future of EP — I have no intention of abandoning the project; drop in for feature requests, bug reports and discussions at http://code.google.com/p/eventpress/ and http://groups.google.com/group/eventpress.
Mea maxima culpa
EventPress
@hnla
It makes no sense to prove that it is better:) my plugin is being developed under my projects, it will evolve to a normal user, not a “how to calculate marketing .. You always have a choice – to use interface administrative panel of WordPress or normal and a lot of understandable for the user – the interface used by the theme …@milordk can I ask what you mean by this comment:
It makes no sense to prove that it is better
I seriously hope it’s not directed at me I am not trying to prove that one plugin or another is better or worse, nor did I start this thread or the two others laboriously debating these two plugins. Both your plugins have strengths and weaknesses I favour neither over the other however others are asking which to use. from my brief glance at the two I noted with surprise that your plugin does not generate maps ? if that’s wrong my apologies, and by generate I don’t refer to providing a url to google static maps, but mercime seemed to think the plugin did generate maps so perhaps I misunderstood how things work?
Which one takes care of ticket purchasing / billing / invoicing process?
