Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_site_allowed_themes()

I’m new to WP & BP. I have installed WP Ver 3.1.2 and BP ver. 1.2.8. When clicking on the groupblog setup button I get this line.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_site_allowed_themes() in /home/covengrl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bp-groupblog/bp-groupblog-admin.php on line 310
None of the group blog settings links work at all. How can I fix this?
    Thank you.

The group blog plugin requires multisite. To fix for now, rename /wp-content/plugins/ and then visit /wp-admin/plugins.php in your web browser. Then you can rename the plugins folder back, then you’ll have to reactivate your original plugins again.

Again — the group blog plugin requires multisite. You can enable BP Group Blog all you want, but unless you have multisite enabled, you will always get this problem. Yes, this means the BP Group Blog plugin isn’t very well written, but that’s not core’s fault.

Deactivate BuddyPress and make sure everything’s working well with your WP Multisite https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/#system-server before installing BuddyPress.

Did you enable multisite? Yes or no.

And the sub sites work fine?
