I’ve installed latest Buddypress on WP 3.3.1 localhost WAMP environment (WP root install)

I’ve chosen to run BBPress 2.0.x plugin as forum, I don’t want user groups

Forum seems to work but I see no integration with BuddyPress

no forum tab on activity page or member pages…
and also if a user posts or replies to a thread in the forum, that activity doesn’t show up in the activity field (either global or individual)

is it something due to my setup? should I change something in the theme?

I think also standard worpdress comments to custom post type posts are not showing up in my user activities!

ps also if a user adds a forum post (or other content) as a favorite, it doesn’t show up in buddypress favorites either… what happened to the integration?

@substrato as listed on the roadmap (https://buddypress.org/about/roadmap/) bbpress 2.0 will have full intergration in buddypress 1.6.

Oh I see..

So both the forum tab and forum activity on the activity feed are disabled because of lack of support for BBpress 2.0 plugin?

But how about the reason why comments made on other custom post types posts won’t work? is it the for similar reasons? ( in that case unsurprisingly because BBPress 2.0 is essentially cpt at work)

will that be fixed altogether with 1.6? and when 1.6 is going to be released, realistically?

In order: yes, not yet (https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3460), no, and I expect BuddyPress 1.6 will be in a beta in within a couple of weeks.

so what’s preventing to the comments to custom post type posts to appear in the activity feed? or do I have to modify the comments template?

If that doesn’t work at the moment, I guess it’s not implemented. I’ve not tested that recently, I’m not sure.

oh ok I see.. well I guess I’ll turn off altogether all profile activities at this point because I don’t use groups, forums with bb2.0 are not supported and commenting on posts is neither

I’ll look forward for BP1.6

is much code going to change from bp1.5.x to 1.6? right now I’m developing some custom theme for wp/bb/bp and customising the profile pages as well (like inserting new tabs…) I hope it won’t break when I’ll upgrade to 1.6

We’ll have betas for the 1.6 release, so you can always test in advance. Our goal is to not break your site or cause you more work to fix something.
