Forums link not working, results in 404

    @richardprins

    Sorry, posted this earlier in the wrong section.

    Hi,

    I have a problem with the Forums link not working. It gives me a 404 (Page not found) on IIS 6.0, WP 3.01 and BP 1.2.5.2. The URL that is tried is ‘/forums/’.
    I’m running the WPURLredirect ISAPI filter to get the permalinks to work (and they work for all the other links in the menu) and the settings for permalinks have been changed from the default (as instructed before installing BP and forums).

    I’ve checked most of the support topics related to this issue but did not find a solution.

    I’ve reinstalled the bbPress forums component several times but to no avail.

    The forums work under groups, but not from the main link on the menu (so the tables are there and all the files).

    Any help would be appreciated. TIA!

    I’ve tried using a virtual directory called forums which points to the bbPress subdirectory under the BuddyPress plugin directory structure. This works, but the layout is somewhat screwed up (templates I suppose) and it doesn’t look like it’s part of the rest of the site (different header). It also seemed I had to login again.

    Anyone else running BuddyPress on the same platform as mentioned in the first post?

    I am having the same issue. I just set up Buddy Press on 2 separate sites, both with fresh word press installs.
    I set up both sites the same, the first site works perfect, the second site however shows a 404 error page on the Forums tab link – works fine from Groups.
    I’ve gone thru all my settings and everything is the same – only difference between the sites is the server location.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    You haven’t installed WordPress under a subdirectory called “forums”, have you? e.g. mysite.com/forums/wp-admin/

    No both were added to a subdomain – forums.mydomain.com
    I uninstalled WP entirely, reinstalled WP & BP and now everything seems to be working.

    Thank you!
