Group Description still severely truncated

    I’m new to BuddyPress.

    I’m running version 10.6.0 under WordPress 6.1.1.

    Using the Nouveau theme, the group description only shows 2 characters. If I use the legacy theme, which I prefer, the description is shown, but then the Groups Navigation widget becomes unavailable.

    I’m using the Colormag WP theme. Switching to a different overall theme does not solve the issue.

    I see old references to this problem from several years ago.

    Did you try to test it with Twenty Twenty-Two standard wp theme?

    So I added more text to that description field, and it shows a lot more than it did. Doesn’t make a lot of sense that a two word description barely shows up, but a longer description shows 12+ words. It’s almost as if the truncation is counting from the end of the string instead of the beginning. In fact, it’s truncating about 12 characters from the end of the string. Tested with two different descriptions.
    Very odd way of doing it.

    I found some options I didn’t know existed, under the Appearance settings. If I change the groups listing to more than one column, it shows the full description of the group. At least it shows the full descriptions I have.

    I think the default listing needs to be corrected though.
