Group name in cyrillic (unicode)

    When I create a group with a long name in cyrillic (unicode), the slug gets cut by the first 20chars. (Then I wondered why it doesn’t get cut if the name is written in latin even if it was like “a very very long name for a group don’t you think honey”.) So I thought it would be great if group names had custom slug field :)

    But that wouldn’t be a very big deal if there wasn’t the second problem:

    Very rarely, the group name gets broken, like not-a-working-group%d. Notice the end of the name.

    I think it’s a bug, someone could create a ticket (or whatever, dunno much about it).

    I’m using WPMU 2.8.1 & BP 1.0.3 at the moment.

    Pardon my ignorance, but it would help test if you could provide a sample cyrillic string so we can try to recreate this bug – you probably can’t post it here on the forum without it messing up the character encoding but are you able to upload a .txt someplace?

    However the slug is generated obviously doesn’t handle such character sets very well, as it does screw up the slug name – I don’t think it is limited to a number of characters being stripped out (there might be a built-in limit or some tags removed by a regex etc).

    Please would you post this as a bug on the trac? Thanks

    Myanmar(burmese) Language Unicode is also.
