Help! “Sorry, no members were found”

    @realfoodmedia

I successfully installed BuddyPress (WP 3.0.4, with a multisite network installed).

Everything seems to be working A-OK except I can’t see any users.

I’ve created a few test users, and I have a bunch of existing users. When I click on the Members tab, I see:

    “Sorry, no members were found”

I also tried setting up a Group – worked fine. Set up a Forum topic – check. Activity – check.

The only thing that doesn’t seem to be working is the Members. I also tried adding friends and that did not work either. I supposed b/c there are no members (even though there are).

How do I fix this? Should I reinstall the plugin?

    Thanks!

Make sure the “order by” drop-down isn’t set to anything but default.

If it just persists, I image you must have done something to the filters of the activity, or changing something in the files.. have you done anything to the files?

If you have, download wordpress from this site (manual.zip) and copy the original php file and replace your existing, for a fresh start

Where do you check for the status of “order by” drop down?

What do you mean by “done anything to the files”?

I installed all the files, everything was working, then installed BP.

OK I reinstalled all the BuddyPress plugin files.

Here are the errors I am getting:

    1. I just created a new user called Joe Schmo. I went in as realfoodmedia (my admin account) and added him as a friend.

    2. Then I logged out and went back in as Joe and I saw the new friend notification. When I clicked on the notification to see who wanted to be friends with me, there was nothing there. (No friends.)

    3. Also no members are showing up in the Member List, and it says no one is online.

How do I fix these errors?

By the way the Groups and Forums and Activity features are all working. It is just the members that aren’t showing up – and you can’t add friends. (Seems reasonable, since there don’t seem to be any members).

Plugins– do you have any other plugins that could be conflicting?

Deactivate all your plugins to see if it fixes it.

OK I deactivated all the plugins. I also deleted all the themes except for the WP default theme.

Then I deleted the BuddyPress theme.

I reinstalled BuddyPress, activated the BP default theme.

    No go.

    Here are the problems:

    1. No members are showing up, even though there ARE members.

    2. Activity IS working — so you can see that there ARE members.

    3. I went in as realfoodmedia and testing (both members) and I requested friendship from Joe Schmo. I tried to go in as Joe Schmo to accept the friendship. I saw the notification in the top menu bar. But when I tried to go to the notification page, there were no friend requests.

    http://www.realfoodmedia.com/screengrabs/no-friendship-requests.jpg

Then the notification disappeared in the menu.

And, when I logged in later as realfoodmedia, and checked out Joe Schmo’s profile, it shows that I have sent a friend request. So I’m waiting for Joe to accept me but he can’t.

OK now I tried deleting all the plugins. Reinstalled BuddyPress and still having the same problems.

    Help!

the answer to the sorry no members were found maybe the reason i was getting it. i have resolved it. well tech support help at my vps provider. i had a plugin called ratings- widget that was giving an error message internally , that faulty plugin filled my memory with error messages. so they cleared some stuff, i deactivated it and there u go. so you may have a similar issue with a plugin. check my site its working fine now. http://www.YOURWETIDEAS.COM
