help with test and live environments

    @buznuts

    Hi. I have created a buddypress website and its nearlly at the point where i am happy to make it live. I have a few question though before i do. Once the site goes live and people hopefully start using it. I was thinking of creating a sub domain so i can still work on the site and improve and test new updates etc
    How do i work on a copy of the site and then over write the live version without losing all the pictures comments and whatever else my members have added meanwhile.

    Thanks in advance

    Brian

    You could set up a local install on your computer to use for testing? You’d need to install a stack such as LAMP (if you’re using Linux) which will give you all of the things you need (Apache, PHP and MySQL).
