how to add a link only viewable to user’s profile?

    hello, i want to add a link/with text like edit info which will redirect them to edit there about me which i wanted to do an inline edit but i don’t seem to get any help from this
    so all im asking is for some help how can i add a text/link but restrict the access for only be viewable in that user’s profile if they access another profile is not viewable only to that user’s profile

    @artxx Where do you want to add the text link? And the text link leads to the logged in member’s profile page or somewhere else? And when you get to member’s profile page or somewhere else, you need something(what?) to be seen by the member whose profile page/somewhere else you are on?

    @mercime this is what i wanted to do here’s and example http://josephscott.org/code/javascript/jeip-demo/ with the custom fields a quick edit solution on the fly but i dont seem to find an answer how i can edit it like this and saving it without the user going the the custom fields group and doing it manually, i want a quick/fast solution for the users to edit fields on the fly. i hope you can help me out thank you.

    @artxx on the link to profile page, you add the code yourself https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/adding-dynamic-link-to-main-menu-item/

    Or use https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-profile-menu/ if you’re using bp-default or child theme of the BP Default theme.

    As for incorporating jQuery Edit in Place plugin with members’ profile pages, that’s beyond the scope of the forums. You’d either have to code it yourself and/or post it in jQuery forums or stackexchange.com where a volunteer may be available to assist you or hire a developer to do so.
