How to allow users to share products in Groups from other websites

How would a user be able to share a product from a website such as Amzon for example within the group. WE have tried to add it as a link and then click preview but it errors oput. If we add pictures or videos by providing the link it works fine.
we are using the activity plus plugin if that helps. To be honest I’m fumbling thru this and would appreciate any help and guidance. Seems to be pretty simple but its not working for us.
