how to change my account buttons,notifications buttons etc.

i want to know how one can change –

1.) my account,notification etc names to something else like my area, whats new etc. means just how to change their names?

2.) how to add/remove components to pop up menus of my account, notifications etc.

2) Go to your wp-admin area, in the BuddyPress menu go to “Component Setup”. This lets you disable/enable each component of BuddyPress. If you disable, they are removed from menus. If you want the component active but not on your menu, you will need to create a child theme: https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/

Thanx a lot. It wa useful. But now I am facing problem in generating .mo files. I searched how to run msgfmt command in windows and got to know it can be done through putty. But unable to make it work. Please! Help is needed!!
