Installing buddypress in subsite in WP multisite

Hi,

i have created a community site

1. the main site is a blog about the latest happenings etc in the community/ how to do ? / learning/ videos/ presenation etc
2. im also using the multisite functionality to give users their personal homepages like myname.mysite.com
3. now in one of the subsite i wanted to install buddypress : community.mysite.com
4. but when i do that , the links etc starts showing in the main site ( i dont want them to be shown there) i only wants users to see once thye login to community.mysite.com
5. is this possible

will really appreciate if somebody can help me on this

First thing’s first, if you want to have user-blog-URL’s as http://myname.mysite.com/ then you have to install BuddyPress in domain root http://mysite.com/ Otherwise, if you install BP in secondary site with a subdomain configuration, e.g. http://buddypress.mysite.com/, the glitch is that the user blogs created from the secondary site will turn out like http://myname.buddypress.mysite.com/

Unless you put in code or widget for sitewide recent posts or for list of all blogs, then those links won’t show up in the home page of your main site.

In subdirectory network – Multisite with subdirectories http://examplesite.com/ – http://examplesite.com/subsite1 – http://examplesite.com/subsite2 – http://examplesite.com/subsite3 etc etc. and say with define ( ‘BP_ROOT_BLOG’, 3 );? in the wp-config file Should buddypress plugins like say “bp profile map” be network activated or activated in subsite 3 in order to get them to work or does something else have to be done. Any help very much appreciated

I have created secondary site with sub directory by network admin, but not able to apply bp theme for secondary site. It’s working but I am not able to apply theme for secondary site. As i click on dashboard option of second site It will show Only text with no alignment and styling.
I am missing to add bp-default theme for my secondary site. Don’t Know how to do that.

Any help will be Appreciated.
