And I notice that the pages for forums and registration donโt work.
Did you enable Registration in Settings > General? If you did, did you check Settings > BuddyPress > Pages to see if a page for Registration is associated with the Registration dropdown and saved?
I donโt understand the bbpress thing. Am I supposed to have that too if I want forums? Does BuddyPress not have forums built within?
BP no longer has internal bbPress group forums built in. For current version, you need to install and activate the bbPress forums plugin for sitewide and/or group forums. https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
I created the forums page and what happens is it first directs me to the forums page (http://thinkwithyourheart.com/forums)..but immediately i am redirected to the home page (http://thinkwithyourheart.com) and never reach the forum page ๐
As for the registration page are you referring to the check box under settings>general that says
“Membership Anyone can register”
If so I tried clicking that and it’s the same thing where it directs me to the home page.
Maybe it’s important to note that I also use a membership software, WishlistMember.
Thanks!

@theoptimystic Did you install sitewide and/or group forums? What’s in your Settings > Forums – Archive Slug – Forums Base? Is it “forums” like the page title “Forums” and the slug below the page title “forums”?
You could try to create a new Page titled Discussions and add the forums index shortcode then publish the page. Go Settings > Forums – Archive Slug – Forums Base and use discussions as the slug. Go to http://thinkwithyourheart.com/discussions/ and check if forums index page is working.
As for the registration page … If so I tried clicking that and itโs the same thing where it directs me to the home page.
That is default behavior when you go to the Register page while you’re still logged in. Log out first then visit the Register page.
*As for the registration page- I am now getting this when I go to the registration page as a logged out user:
User registration is currently not allowed.
*Forums: I think the problem could be that bbpress is not integrated correctly. Under Legacy Group Forums > bbPress Configuration there is a file uploaded and then in red next to the file it says File does not exist
When I click on “repair” it says I do not have the authorization to repair.
I REALLY need some help…things are all wacky. Only admin can see the activity and users that are in BP. I am really confused about the registration process…
Please please can someone help me figure out what’s going on?
Kim
User registration is currently not allowed.
@theoptimystic If as you said in previous post that you enabled registration in Settings > General, then you might have a plugin that’s controlling your registration process.
Checking the source code of your home page, I see that there’s a pageline-buddypress plugin and the BP Template Pack plugin activated in your site. BP Template Pack plugin is no longer required as of BP 1.7 to make your theme compatible with BuddyPress. At least that’s true for nearly all WordPress themes. Deactivate those plugins, change to Twenty Twelve theme and check if issues are resolved.
I deactivated those plugins and it only made things look worse and still no registration or forum page appeared.
I am also not sure what you mean but change to Twenty Twelve theme. I am using Pagelines theme and will continue to use this theme for my site. I want BP to fit into this theme…it’s important to note that pagelines is a drag and drop theme…the first of its kind so it could be causing some integration issues?
So again, no registration, no forums, no fun ๐
please advise.
thanks,
Kim
I am also not sure what you mean but change to Twenty Twelve theme.
I mean change to Twenty Twelve theme and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress to check if issue is resolved in a default installation.
If issues are resolved with Twenty Twelve, then it’s not a BuddyPress issue but the Pagelines theme issue or the pagelines-buddypress issue compounded with the BP Template pack plugin (which is no longer used for WP theme compatibility since BP 1.7). In this case, please post at theme author’s forums for resolution.
ok…thank you i am working with Pagelines now. Hopefully that works.
@theoptimystic great. good luck ๐
