New to BP: Link to Installation Wizard Is Not Showing

All,

I’m new to BP, I just finished the 390 min. install, I activated the BP plugin. It says it’s activated. Now according to the documentation, I’m supposed to click a link at the top of the page that says “Installation Wizard” and there is no link. BP does not appear to be working properly. I can edit Components, Pages, Settings, Forums but I don’t see tabs for Permalink, Themes, or Finish.

In light of my installation experience, I may have gotten off on the wrong foot somewhere.

I’d appreciate any guidance.

Go to dashboard Pages > All Pages and check what pages are listed there. Do you have “Activity” “Groups” “Members” etc?

Go to admin dashboard menu Settings > Permalinks and choose permalink other than default and Save Changes.

Go to dashboard menu Appearance > Themes and choose the BP Default theme.

Are you on Windows or Linux server?

I am on OSX 10.7. All check boxes you describe are checked.

I tried a BP install on Win7 and all the tabs that I reported as missing under OSX are present.

Yeah same problem here too, weeks go by and no support for this plugin? yikes!
EDIT: I did get a response, and the first step was to click on the link to the Installation Wizard…. thats helpful
