Still looking for some help please.
@zillabuggs first time I heard about this issue in the Group Forums. Is bbPress plugin (Sitewide Forums) also activated? WP/BP versions? What theme are you using? What plugins are activated in your installation?
Sitewide forums are not activated. WP 3.4.1. BP 1.6.1.
Theme – twentyeleven
Plugins:
Backupwordpress
BP Better pagination
BP template pack
Theme my login
Wordpress importer
WP user control
Exclude pages from navigation
I’ve never heard of anything like this, either. Very odd.
Done all the usual deactivating and reactivating. It is also still happening in default theme.
@zillabuggs to troubleshoot further, is this a new install or was it upgraded from BP 1.5+? If it was upgraded, was it working properly before the upgrade? Are you on single install or Multisite? If multisite, is BP activated in main site or secondary site?
@mercime this was a fresh install, because I had problems after upgrading to WP 3.4.1 so I decided to start afresh. It is a single install. The only thing I did was import my backed up database, if that’s any help.
Sounds like the DB import might have affected something.
Can you try using a fresh DB? Try creating a few new groups and group forums and see if you can duplicate the issue.
@r-a-y If I set up another database and the problem is no longer there, I presume I won’t be able to keep the groups and topics I already have? if you want to have a look http://justcatchat.com is my site.
If you saved database before upgrading, then install the WP/BP versions you had working with that DB and import the database to the installation. Then deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change to Twenty Eleven theme before upgrading WP/BP to current versions. Activate bp-default theme after the upgrade and check everthing is working before activating plugins (which you should check if compatible with latest BP/WP versions before activating).
If you only saved database after the upgrade, then that’s a different story. I do hope you backed up DB before upgrading.
