New Users unable to register –

Clocking on the ‘Join Us’ button to register doesn’t take new users anywhere, the home page refreshes. It did work once, two days ago, as I was able to create a Trial user account. I am unsure if one of the plugins I installed messed this function up, also not sure how to fix it. Help!

Could be theme or plugin conflict. Have you tried changing to bp-default theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress to troubleshoot?

Did someone turn off registration? Go check and make sure it;s turning on under Settings.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I was able to check a box so that anyone could register, and then magically a registration box appeared! And it works… almost…. now I can’t get the new users to receive the confirmation email to activate their accounts. Any suggestions?

This is a single site with BuddyPress installed. Thanks!

First, ask users to check if activation email went to spam folder. If not, wome webhosts have problem with WP mail. Some have used this plugin successfully https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

Hi,

I’ve verified anyone can register on my site. When a new user clicks register, “Sign Up Here” they receive a 404 error – page not found.
