No Documentation for the Newer 1.2 version Child Theme

My problem is that there is no documentation for the newer 1.2 version child theme. The current doc for creating child theme still points to creating version 1.1 themes.

The documentation does note that this is for version 1.2 and above but there is no documentation on how to convert 1.1 to 1.2 themes. Moreover, I also tried applying “Inheriting CSS” section but it didn’t worked as there is no such style in that location as specified in the import code.
