Normal WordPress Themes?
-
Hi,
I have a lot of beautiful eye’candy wordpress themes, why buddypress is not compatible with them if most of its individual plugins, or plugins similar to them, can work on wordpress?
The way Buddypress themes are is counter-productive, because it cant support wordpress themes, and I need to learn a new standard just to make my WordPress themes compatible with this?
If I find a plugin for wordpress that only build-up a community and if I get the other plugins, I will get near the same functionalities of buddypress.
SO, I have just one ask. Why complicate if you can simplify?
I just believe that is possible to be different, but without loose compatibility.

Thanks a Lot, for fast replying and for the plugin!!!
I never noticed the existence of this one!
But, there are any plan of making it official part of Buddypress? It would be really useful.
Thanks Again. Best Regards.
I’m not sure… but the plugin was released by Andy who is the main core developer for BuddyPress. I didn’t even know about the plugin until I responded to your post. I knew there was a thread on here about your question about a week ago… so I just did a search.
Would this plugin also help in upgrading a custom Buddypress 1.1.3 theme to 1.2?
I’ll try that later this week…
Hi David,
Yes, you are right, but it is very very strange…
I will try to contact Andy to ask about it.
By the way, thanks for the reply.
@Peterverkooijen, you’re probably better of starting with the BP Backwards Compat plugin for a 1.1.3 theme.
has anyone had any issues with the avatars in the sidebar? Mine are all showing up in a vertical line instead of a block. I’m using the BP Template Pack with BuddyPress 1.2.1. I’m working on a client site that isn’t live yet and I would love to get the bugs worked out before we upload it to a permanent url. http://workingonthisnow.com/MHA
Thanks!!
