Hello I am trying to get buddypress 1.7 working on wordpress 3.5.1 but seem to be stuck, when a new user tries to sign up they do not receive an email with the activation code. I have followed some suggested steps and got the configure smtp plugin working but still dont get email when someone tries to sign up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try sending a test email in the SMTP plugin to ensure email is working?

Thank you for the reply, Yes I do get the test emails from the configure smtp plugin.

I wish there was but it is running off a local server and is planned to eventually be a company intranet so unfortunately I don’t believe there is a way to reach from outside.

Deactivate BuddyPress and BP plugins then check if users can receive activation email.

Yes with buddypress deactivated if someone tries to register everything seems to work and they do get the email. Any suggestions?

The more I play with it I am beginning to think it is not an issue with email and more of a problem with the “complete sign up” button not working right. Thank you in advance if anyone has ideas for that problem.

I have the same problem
I have deactivated bb and I receive the classic mail (user and admin)
With bb I don’t receive any mail or notification.

I add that the new user exist is created but if I try to login in with it the message is
ERROR: Your account has not been activated. Check your email for the activation link.
