[Resolved] Only users with admin-role can add friends

    Dear all,

    I am struggeling with the issue, that in my hands only user who do have assigned the admin-user role can successfully add other members as friends.
    So for me it seems that there must be some issue with my configuration and/or permission settings.

    I have gone through the admin-panels but could not find an appropriate setting which might change this. I tried file permissions in the install dirs – I changed the owner to the user of the apache process – to no avail.

    At this point I am out of ideas.. did anybody encounter a similar behaviour?

    Any ideas on what might cause this behaviour are greatly appreaciated!

    @greenfeetz     What theme are you using? Does changing to Twenty Fourteen theme resolve the issue? What plugins are activated? Does deactivating all plugins except BP resolve the issue?

    @mercime: Thanks for your feedback! Indeed it seemed to be an issue with my theme. I installed the plugin “User Role Editor” and tried adding different rights to the participant-role – which finally solved the issue! Cheers
