BuddyPress.org

After activating Buddypress, the Activity, Forums, Groups, and Members links are resulting in a page not found error. It seems that the pages are not being created. For instance, when I click on Activity I can see the follow URL:http://xyzpage.com/activity/ but I get a page (404) error. Am I missing something with directory permissions or ownership?
