Post Update button, Activities Disappear

    My custom theme Buddypress (1.6.1)/Wordpress (3.4.2) site was working perfectly fine. There was a Post Update button and activities were sticking.

    Yesterday I updated Jetpack, BP Menus, Post Topics, Google Analytics, WP Facebook AutoConnect paid. The Post Update button disappeared. I solved that problem disabling BP Menus v2.0.3. I only allow registration of Buddypress accounts through Facebook. Now some accounts can post perfectly fine – their post will stick on the website. However I’ve noticed with some other accounts that when they try and post simple text the post appears to go through and have been submitted, however the post disappears once the user refreshes the page.

    I’ve noticed that users whose post disappears on the Activity Stream can still send private messages and those work fine.

    Any ideas on what is causing this problem and how I can fix it?

    BP menus does nothing that would interact with the submit button. Deactivate all plugins and revert to bp default theme to test each plugin.

    When I disabled BP Menus I could see the Post Update button. After submitting the activity update through a non-Facebook WordPress account and then refreshing the page, the update displays. However when I try to login via Facebook and post a status update while it seems to submit the update properly when I refresh the page the update disappears.

    I am having the same problem with my button not appearing on my new site I started building last week, HippieNations.com, but, I am not using the BP Menus, or any of the other plugins you have listed. I used BP Compatibility to make a non BuddyPress theme BuddyPress. I think I remember somewhere it asked me if I wanted the button or to hit enter and I chose to hit enter, but, that was the wrong choice I think. I don’t remember where I saw that though and I can’t find it again. I also thought maybe it was some kind of permission error too maybe. I will keep trying to figure it out.

    @blogurp Please create a new topic. This topic deals with BP Menus and you have an issue with BP compatibility, I will help you there.

    It’s not BP menus so its fine to post here. Update topic title to reflect the real issue, post button.

    Hey guys,
    @modemlooper
    @mercime
    I found the solution to the problem here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-buddypress-cant-post-update-in-activity-stream. It turns out the button was always there, but in the bp.css file in wp-content/plugins/bp-template-pack, around line 60, the button has a height of 0. you have to manually change the height to 40 or whatever you want.

    It worked for me and my button is now there.

    Later :)

    Template pack CSS is probably not updated to current BP.
